Volume, Classic or Wispy? Which Lash Look Suits You

“Which lashes should I choose?” is the question I hear most often at the atelier – and rightly so, because volume, classic and wispy look very different and feel different too. So you don’t have to guess at your appointment, here’s how I explain the three looks to my clients in Schwäbisch Gmünd – with their strengths and who each one is made for.

Classic extensions: defined and natural

With classic extensions I apply exactly one synthetic lash to each of your natural lashes – a careful one-to-one application. The result is a clean, defined look, as if you’d just applied mascara, only permanent and without smudging.

Classic is my tip for you if you …

• already have plenty of your own lashes,
• want a natural, everyday effect,
• are wearing extensions for the first time and want to ease in.

Volume: fullness and depth

For a volume set I fan several ultra-light fibres into a small fan and place it on one natural lash. This creates noticeably more density and a soft, full gaze – even if your own lashes are fine or sparse.

Despite the fullness the fans stay feather-light, because the individual fibres are thinner than in classic. Volume suits you if you love an expressive, glamorous look, or if your natural lashes could use some support. Our volume set is one of the most popular treatments at the atelier.

Wispy (Ethereal Lashes): the airy trend look

Wispy lashes – our Ethereal Lashes – combine fine fans with deliberate length variation. Individual tips intentionally stand out a little, creating a playful, textured effect. The look feels modern and soft, almost naturally beautiful, and is very much in demand right now.

Wispy is ideal if you want something special that still doesn’t look heavy or overdone.

Classic, volume or wispy – how to decide

In the end the choice comes down to three things: your eye shape, the condition of your natural lashes and your routine. If you like things quick and natural in the morning, classic is a good fit. If you want fullness, choose volume. If you’re after the modern, soft look, you’ll love wispy.
